So, Ken Bigley has been despatched into eternity. I didn't hear mention that it was a moslem (who thought he was doing the will of Allah) who did the deed. Aparantly we will read on the newstands that Tony Blair has blood on his hands. It is appalling to 21st century westerners that an innocent man should have his life taken in this way.
I wonder how the headlines would read if what took place in Bethlehem shortly after Jesus was born had occurred in the days of newspapers - quite likely God would have been to blame for that - it had been prophecied after all....
At such times it is a tremendous comfort to remember what happened to Herod as a consequence - I have no doubt at all that Jesus IS King and is working all things everywhere to bring praise to God. I don't pretend to begin to understand it, after all, who am I? A mere speck of dust... But a speck of dust who is eternally thankful for the kindness of a God whom I have offended (and do offend) in offering His own lovely Son to bear the punishment due to my sins and by whose stripes I am healed.
