On the subject of wastefulness.... I was thinking of how we don't praise our children too much - in case it goes to their head. We can't feel kindly towards a visitor if he/she leaves food on the plate - or eats 'too much'. The term 'too much' is very subjective and defined (unspecifically) by the one who uses it. Could we drive 'too far' to spend time with beloved friends?. Can it be 'too expensive' for a loved one to be transported home 'too often'? Can an evening of fellowship go on 'too long'? Can we have 'too many' children?....
These are, obviously, random ideas but they are all ways in which our thoughts about what is right, or appropriate, are not tempered by the generous nature of the Almighty and if we knew Him better, we would be more like Him in the ways we dealt with one another.
