THINGS I THOUGHT I WAS JOKING ABOUT:
1) (at the age of 17) "My goal in life is to become a Godly old lady" - I knew it was going to be a big job but I didn't know how hard it was going to be.

2) (to enquirers into the family-size) "no, we're not aiming for a football team, we're growing our own labour force". This objective competes directly with the principle that we are to help the children develop their own particular gifts (what with schoolwork and nursery work who has time to cultivate a hobby?) - except in the case of those children whose calling involves selling hedging plants or potting/digging the same.
It looks like it will be someone elses priviledge (in another place) to help the children unearth their talents and put them to good use.
