My lovely children made a very kind gesture, they had arranged for Ron and I to visit friends in Holland in commemoration of our wedding anniversary this year. My feelings were of panic (how can I do that when I have to be by the electricity every three hours?!) and dread. I ought to have been thankful, I first saw it as being in the plan of God but couldn't resign myself to it. It might have been easier if they had suggested Florence, or Rome... And bear in mind that last year we did an extensive study of the Rennaissance and reformation, had a been a little more courageous I would have planned a field-trip to Florence, I did buy some guide books and we learnt a little Italian.....
