Listening to John Piper on Job I arrived at the end yesterday whilst indulging in a delightful walk. One of the startling points (though I'll prob rewind and seek more nourishment from that source) is that all the advice of the three friends (chs 4 - 28ish) was a) not BAD theology (though it was not rightly applied) and b) depended on an unshakeable confidence in the sovereign power of God over all.
