I guess one of the REALLY good things about all this time-consuming attendance on the ameda pump is that I have been able to read loads of interesting books. Just now I am reading one on the stealing of the Mona Lisa. It wasn't noticed until 24 hours had elapsed and three weeks later there were still long queues of people filing into the Louvre to view the space where the painting had been. The book I am reading is seeking to analyse what exactly it is about seeing things, and especially art, which makes them of interest to us. Of course if we see a lovely view we make take a photo (or a series of photos to create a panorama) but the thrill of standing there and experiencing it in the flesh can not be captured in a photo. Victoria was looking exceptionally lovely while she was sleeping in her pushchair this afternoon but I didn't take a photo because I knew I would be disappointed at the failure of the camera to really 'get it'. Haven't read much of this book (too busy talking to the ladies at ice-skating) but so far it has been very thought-provoking.
