Well, 6 out of the last 7 weeks have been spent variously in Cornwall, Dorset, Devon and various bits of Wales. Highlights have included seeing God work a miracle right before my very eyes (!!), catching up with DEAR old friendships and cultivating new ones and (bottom of the list, you see!) discovering a cake factory (dare I tell you WHERE?) at which rejects are sold for £3 each. These are SERIOUS cakes - 15 (large) pieces of delicious carrot cake for £3... Anyway, after calling in there 4 times over 8 days I told the lady I was jolly glad we didn't live nearby! If I did I couldnt' justify my recent decision to buy a large magimix with a view to pensioning off my ancient food-processor and possibly MORE ancient kenwood chef (it used to belong to my grandmother, I remember watching her make cakes in it when I was a wee small thing - used to scrape out the bowl...). It's all well and good but one can't do much at once in it....
Books I'm reading are 'Respectable Sins' by Jerry Bridges, 'Reforming Marriage' by Doug Wilson and a book about Maria MOntessori (which aggravates me no end...) plus others the names of which currently escape me.
The Lord is good, He afflicts and He binds up. He won't try us beyond what we can bear and any suffering is worth it for the eternal benefit which can be got out of it and the confidence that the Lord is Glorified through even me is a tremendous priveledge. Blessings on all (any?) who read this and apologies to any who have been here and seen the same-old-thing for SO long! when I WAS here my heart was so weighed down I couldn't write. When my heart was no longer weighed down I wasn't here.... Now I am and we're getting ready to get our heads down until Easter again with another freshly-tweaked educational program which SHOULD leave me free to spend a bit more time with the little ones (esp. Victoria).
The Lord is my strength and my song and He has become my salvation.
