It's been jolly busy here the past week - lots of folks coming and going. Philip and Becky were engaged on Friday and now begin the arduous task of planning for the future. Timothy arrived back at 3am on Christmas Day (the noble David stayed up to collect him) and Lucy, finishing her night shift almost 2 hours late, was also collected by David around 10am. Along with a dear friend of the boys, from Glasgow, who was here for just over a week, we had 6 students from the Royal Holloway College (most of them Korean or Chinese) and a lively and informative time was had with them. For the chinese girls, the fact that here was a home with SO MANY brothers and sisters really wowed them - they couldnt' imagine what it woudl be like to have a sibling or two, though they wish they HAD.
On Saturday we had 3 families join us for general merriment, psalm singing, conversation, food and some demonstration of skills aquired by some of the children. Yesterday I was taken out of action by a migraine - though it was one of the short-sort, thankfully. Today we had people booked but they cancelled.
Tomorrow evening it might be possible for David, Timothy, Lucy and I to go to a folk-dance meeting in Ashford, Middlesex - I've to get them all to agree at once then I can go ahead and book the tickets! Over the past two weeks they have all agreed in general!
The second of the Charles Williams novels I began (hard on the tail of the first!) seemed a bit harder to get into but I had a job to put it down this morning!
Back to the mundane, I have to go to Tesco.
