Facing a busy couple of weeks, with lots of visitors, I'm thankful to be over one of the longest bouts of migraine I've had. Yesterday Ron drove me to my friendly osteopath whom I hadn't visited since March last year. She gave me the works and I felt very beaten up by the time she had finished with me and was thankful I didn't have to drive home. I'm on the mend now.

While I was lying down last week, I had plenty of time to think and comparing notes, afterwards, with a friend of mine, was reflecting on how being ill gives one time to consider the areas in which one fails. It was a gloomy time. I was very thankful to be up and about again and appreciated the fresh cold air and the chance to be back in my kitchen taking charge once more.

Victoria takes it all in her stride, climbing under the cover with anyone who is lying down on a sofa with a blanket over them. Always sympathetic, she is a great source of consolation to the ailing!

when people ask me how I am I am trying to think (even if I don't say it) 'I'm better than I deserve'.
