I was reading a book to the children yesterday. it is a light-hearted look at the lives of the saints. One thing which struck me and had never done so before was this: Jesus is not afraid of anything - and that PROVES that He is the greatest King. The story was of Christopher who wanted to serve the greatest king. he went to one who let it slip that he was scared of the devil - so C. thought that the devil must be the greatest king - off he goes to find and sign up with the devil. Marching along they gave a cross standing in teh ground a wide berth. Asked why, the devil explained that it was the symbol of Christianity because Christ had died on one and he was scared of Christ. so off C. goes to look for Christ to serve Him. Of course Christ wasn't scared of anything. Though I was thinking this mng that there is a hint that He was afraid of one thing - His Father's displeasure which He bore on the cross. Awesome stuff - so simple and yet so profound. I told the children I'm SO glad that I serve and am owned by someone who's not scared of ANYTHING.

I just saw the beautiful flowers in your garden of 2009! Your home and garden is beautiful. I am working through all your writings and am sorry we did not know of Ron's difficulty and Lucy's delivery. Thankfully they are doing well and Ron seems to be recovering. The Lord is giving you trials for strengthening. Love, Bernadine
