I'm so thankful for my lovely garden. The flowers continue to bloom and before the autumn advances any further necesitating the trimming down of the roses and digging up of the petunias I thought I'd take a couple of pics. The first picture is taken towards the house, the second standing at the patio window. Where the table is is the area in which the children recently ran through 'the tamign of the shrew' - it makes a very convenient 'stage' area. I even thought this are lends itself to paid performances and soiree's! I'm so GLAD that God made so many different sorts of flowers and that we can have the freedow to buy, plant and tend them - while I feel, on one level, this is 'my' garden, I'm very aware that all I am doing is arranging and tweaking what is essentially GOD's work. What a priviledge.
On the reading front, I continue to enjoy MacCulloch on Cranmer. It raises questions about our current evangelical views of the Sovereignty of God, place of children in the covenant and practice/ significance of the Lord's supper. I'll be glad to meet Cranmer some 'time'.
