Ok, it's a long time since I posted. I've read lots of books, been lots of places, met lots of people, learnt lots and been through the mangle (not sure I'm out of it yet).
I'm using this blog to update those who are interested to be kept up to date specifically with Ron and Lucy.

Ron is now in hospital, he's had a series of problems for which he is now being admitted for tests. One of the problems was an infection in the bone at the end of his little finger (which, at one point, was under threat of amputation, but may not be now) and another was a rather nasty cyst-thing on his back, which the hospital is now going to deal with. In his better moments he's confident that God is working everything well. Were it not for the prayers of the saints, the 'worse moments' would be more prevalent, so if you have been, thanks... While I was with Ron in the waiting room I had confirmation of the Lord's care by means of my very dear midwife-friend (who offered her services for my last three pregnancies and was worth double her weight in gold especially in connection with Victoria) - having a bad knee, she was in to have it x-rayed etc. It had been my intention to leave at 2pm but I kept on with my patchwork. Then Ron wanted to go to the gents and while he was gone, in walked Viv. It amazes me constantly how the Lord works all the movements of His precious ones so that they meet to encourage and astound one another. I left Ron waiting for a bed - which they were having difficulty finding, it seems. Places in the car-park were heavily in demand too. There were 5 cars queuing outside the barrier while I was feeding my £5 into the machine. (I refrain from making politcally-motivated comments about 'free' health care at this point....).

Lucy is now more than a week overdue. She'd hoped for a home-birth but has just cleared it with the local hospital that she can be induced in Surrey rather than in Kent - so plans to make her way here (with Ben of course - whose boss has just offered him the very rare opportunity to have a Saturday off - rather than WEdnesday) on Saturday. I don't know much except that they do not plan to stay for the week. Meanwhile she goes for daily walks and hasn't (yet) had an irresistable urge to re-arrange the furniture.
