I went to see Ron - he was looking a lot chirpier today - still has to have his hand elevated - didn't have the oxygen anymore and was sitting in the chair clothed in his PJ's. He said his back had to be re-dressed as it had got rather messy. his 'finger' is throbbing. This is a mystery since the finger, when it WAS there was not giving any pain....
After last night I phoned my Dad and he said I should take him newspapers and a radio. The newspapers were acceptable but Ron told me that the radio I had taken him was no good - so I brought that back again. He continuing to listen to sermons by Curt Lovelace (you can find them on sermonaudio - they're very good!) on James. Back here I've been listening to the ones on Joshua - just what I needed! I left him with a CD of hymns which he's enjoyed too. He's even been able to gather enough concentration to continue with his Bonhoffer book (thanks Jonathan!) and is now half way through. He says the time drags...
Thomas popped in when on his way to Paul's , then just after he left Lucy and Ben came in. They had enjoyed their walk and were on their way to install themselves on Joan Booker ward and prepare for whatever was deemed necessary to encourage Fred to stop being the on-board central-heating system and delight our eyes.
I had enough time to read a bedtime story, do Joanna's hair in plaits, have a cup of redbush and then I shall be off again for evening visiting.
Phew - I'm glad the Lord doesn't have me run at this pace all the time.....
